My partner and I moved in together last year, and this year we continued settling in. We set up bird feeders in the yard and made lots of avian friends! Here's a male Hairy Woodpecker enjoying some suet:



Sadly, my partner's cat Luna passed away in the spring. She had known health conditions and had already outlived her projected lifespan. It was nice to know her for a little while. Here she is helping me write:



On a happier note, we took a trip to the coast of Maine in the fall. I hadn't been there in a long time and it was really beautiful, and not too crowded since it wasn't peak tourist season. Here's a beach sunrise:

Sad to have lost Luna but hopefully the active birds help abate that a bit. I know we're glad to see our flocks now that the holiday decorations are gone and the seed plates are back out 🙂

What a wonderful shot of the sunrise! I love the composition. Great that you were able to see the sights at a less busy time. I always prefer to go to places off season as well if possible.
